YMCA SAFE PLACE SERVICES
The main goal of Safe Place Services is to work with teens before they fall into the court or social service systems, giving them a better way out and helping them to find a path to understanding and growth. YMCA Black Achievers
Grades 8-12
Offered at the Chestnut Street Family Branch, the YMCA Black Achievers program strives to educate and expose youth to various career fields in the business industry as well as promote and encourage students to further their education to post-secondary institutions. Participants will have the opportunity to take company tours, participate in work study programs, and earn scholarships thereby motivating them to succeed in school, preparing them for the job market, giving them the opportunity to serve as role models, and building their future. Teen Fitness Programs
Ages 10-13
The Youth Certification Program is an orientation program that educates youth about healthy lifestyles, cardiovascular training, and some strength training. Participants will learn how to utilize fitness equipment under the supervision of trained YMCA staff. At the completion of the program, participants will be allowed to use the fitness area at specified times with special badges. For more detailed information, click the branch nearest you:

Teen Summer Camps
Ages 11-16
A variety of summer camps are available for teens designed to provide a safe, supervised environment that relieves the pressure your child would otherwise experience spending summer hours at home alone. Our professionally trained staff ensures quality programming and meets the needs of working parents providing service from 7:00 am. - 6:00 pm. Teen Leaders Club
The Teen Leaders Club is a volunteer club that affords teens the opportunity to gain many life experiences while impacting their community by doing community service projects, service learning, and fund raisers. The club is designed to teach its members responsible decision-making and team building skills, and encourages personal growth and positive development. YMCA Youth Ambassadors Abroad
This cross-cultural experience for young people involving international travel, community service, home stays and teen-to-teen interaction is coordinated by the YMCA of Greater Louisville International Services Committee.

Over 100 youth have traveled to several regions of the globe including Germany, India, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Russia and Togo.
