Safe Place Services


Safe Place's black and yellow signs have become this city's most recognizable symbol of help for our youth. They represent security, support and guidance for teens who often have no place else to turn. Over 400 locations around the Louisville area have partnered with us to display our signs, making our services easily available to any youth who needs help.

It's More Than Just a Sign:

  1. Youth can go to any business, city bus or community center displaying the Safe Place sign. 
  2. An employee at the site will contact a Safe Place team member. 
  3. Within minutes a trained volunteer will arrive and take the youth to YMCA Safe Place Services, where they receive immediate help.

  • 24-hour Crisis Hotline (635-5233)
  • Youth Board, Peer Education, and Leadership Training
  • School and Group Presentations
  • Street Outreach
