MAKE FRIENDS; BUILD CONFIDENCE-CHESTNUT STREET SUMMER FUN CAMP
Y Day Camp provides youth with supervised activities that teach core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills. We have fun while building self-confidence , learning teamwork and gaining independence. Our activities include arts & crafts, science and technology, swimming, enjoying nature, while gaining a better understanding of our many cultures.
Our summer fun runs from June 4- August 17 and our camp hours are from 7 am-6 pm. Our Camp is licensed by the state and eligible for third party reimbursement.
MEALS
We are a participant in the summer food program and free breakfast and lunch will be provided. (Except for the last week of camp)
KID'S CAFE
The Chestnut Street Family YMCA is a Kid's Café site. As an additional benefit, campers can join us for the evening meal at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This free service is a part of the Dare to Care outreach program.
THE PROMISE OF DISCOVERY
Our Summer fun includes field trips, special guests and of course making new friends. Campers will be involved in Educational Enrichment activities twice a week with access to our computer lab. We will participate in the free public library Summer Reading Program with the opportunity to earn great prizes.
For older campers (ages 10+) our counselors will teach them about budgeting by letting them plan some of their own field trips. There will be an overnight Camp Piomingo trip ($20 additional fee) and a lock-in at the Y ($15 additional fee). We'll also have a session of water safety with trained Y Swim Instructors.
