Learn the basics, improve your basketball skills and make new friends! Here at the Y we make sure that every child gets to play and that games are safe, fair and most of all fun.

Our Y Youth Basketball registration is going on now for kids 3-17. The season runs January - March.

PLAYER ITEMS

When you sign up for Y Youth Basketball, you not only learn how to play the sport, you also get a team shirt, team picture and a trophy (ages 3-5); a team reversible jersey, team picture and an end of the season award (ages 6-9); or a reversible jersey and a team picture (ages 10 & up)!

This is an introduction to the sport of basketball and we focus on dribbling, passing and shooting. We use a 25" ball and a 6-foot goal. Our officials take an active role in coaching as well as teaching the rules of the game.

Teams practice directly before each game for 20 minutes. Games are held on Saturdays or Sundays at Westport Middle School.

There will be a $15 late fee added after December 5, 2011.

Games for 8-9 coeds are held on Saturdays at Barret Middle. Games for 8-10 girls are held at Kammerer Middle and teams may travel to other Y's for some games.
